Dartmouth Medal
Established in 1974, this medal honors the creation of a reference work of outstanding quality and significance, including, but not limited to: writing, compiling, editing, or publishing books or electronic information.

Sophie Brody Award
The Sophie Brody Award was first awarded in 2006, and includes a medal for the winner, as well as citations for selected honor books. It is funded by Arthur Brody and the Brodart Foundation, and is given to encourage, recognize and commend outstanding achievement in Jewish literature.

Blackwell's Scholarship Award (ALCTS)
Honors the author or authors of the year's outstanding monograph, article or original paper in the field of acquisitions, collection development, and related areas of resources development in libraries.

Gleason (Eliza Atkins) Book Award
The Eliza Atkins Gleason Book Award is presented every third year to recognize the best book written in English in the field of library history, including the history of libraries, librarianship, and book culture.

Greenwood Publishing Group Award for the Best Book in Library Literature
An annual award consisting of a $5,000 honorarium and a citation of achievement to honor the best book published in library literature. This book may help library professionals in the areas of management principles and practice, understanding and application of new techniques, or furthering the education of librarians or other information specialists. Donated by Greenwood Publishing Group. Deadline is December 1.

Stonewall Book Awards
Stonewall Book Award-Barbara Gittings Literature Award and the Stonewall Book Award-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award are presented to English language works published the year prior to the announcement date. The award, which consists of a commemorative plaque and a cash stipend, is announced in January and presented to the winning authors or editors at the American Library Association Annual Conference in June.

Boyd Award
An annual award consisting of $5,000 and a 24k gold-framed citation of achievement honoring the best fiction set in a period when the United States was at war. It recognizes the service of American veterans and military personnel and encourages the writing and publishing of outstanding war-related fiction for young adults or adults. Donated by William Young Boyd II. Deadline is December 1.
