Cataloging & Classification Section

Mission

CCS contributes to library service and librarianship by encouraging, promoting, and taking responsibility for ALCTS activities that relate to:

  • cataloging and classification of information resources with developed and developing metadata structure and content standards, 
  • using standards to provide intellectual access to and organize information resources in both traditional and nontraditional settings,
  • planning and monitoring activities based on ALCTS's Strategic and Tactical Plan.
