Membership Options
ALTAFF Membership
ALA personal members have the choice of one or more sections, including Trustees, Friends, and Foundations. ALTAFF membership is $50 per year. You may choose one section for free, additional sections are $15 each. Benefits vary slightly by section and only members of an individual section may serve on section committees or on the ALTAFF board reprsenting that section. A unique Librarian Plus cateogry offers discounted pricing.
Librarian Plus Discount Pricing
ALA regular members (new or current) may take advantage of unique “Librarian Plus” pricing for ALTAFF membership with a savings of 12% over the cost of purchasing separately. For $250, you will receive:
- ALTAFF Trustee section and ALTAFF Friends section membership for yourself.
- (1) FREE ALA Trustee membership + ALTAFF Trustee section membership.
- (1) FREE ALA Friend membership + ALTAFF Friends section membership.
- Opportunity to purchase additional ALA+ALTAFF memberships for individual Trustees and Friends for $85,
a 22% savings over the regular membership rate.
Friends Group and Trustee Board Affiliate
A Friends Group or Board of Trustees can directly join ALTAFF as an affiliate to receive publications and online members only resources. This is not a voting membership for ALA or ALTAFF, and does not include any of the benefits afforded to ALA personal members. Affiliates will receive a subscription to The Voice, the new bi-monthly expanded newsletter of ALTAFF and access to either the Friends Zone or Trustee Zone. Rates are based on library operating budget:
- Small Library (library operating budget under $1 million/yr): $40
- Medium Library (library operating budget between $1 million/yr and $5 million/yr): $65
- Large Library (library operating budget more than $5 million/yr): $100
